In mid-2020, when we realized the COVID pandemic was not letting up and that lockdown was continuing through the year, Third Rail Creative sought out to offer pro-bono projects that would benefit local nonprofits that were affected by the lack of in-person interactions. One of those was raising funds for Austin Pets Alive!
As part of our partnership, we created a digital cookbook of recipes from local, well-known restaurants that people could cook at home for themselves and/or their pets (since we all did a whole lot of cooking at home). My role was to provide illustrations for select recipes, and at a time when society seemed a little bleak, I wanted to inject a bit of whimsy anywhere I could.
